Many people are so happy to go on vacation that they forget some basic safety tips for their home before they go. When your home is left empty it is the most vulnerable. And if you don’t think that burglars aren’t constantly looking for homes that are vulnerable you better think again. So here are some tips that will help make sure that your belongings are where they’re supposed to be when you get back. 1. Make sure you stop your mail and newspapers so they don’t accumulate in your front yard or in your mailbox. A pile of papers in your front yard is a sure sign you’re gone. 2. Have someone mow your lawn and water your lawn and plants while you’re gone. 3. If you don’t have a timer for some of your indoor lights ask a neighbor to turn on lights every night for a few hours. While you’re at it ask him turn on a radio or TV too. 4. And make sure you tell your neighbors that you will be gone and when you’ll be back. It doesn’t hurt to ask them to keep an eye on your house.
